Electro-Acupuncture Therapy
|
| After the desired needling sensation is obtained, the output wire of the electric stimulator is attached to the handle of the needle, and the current is turned on. This is the electro-acupuncture therapy. The advantage of it is: ① Hand manipulation is combined with electrical stimulation, thus, it can enhance the curative effect. ② The frequency and the amount of stimulus can be accurately controlled. ③ It can replace long-time sustained manual manipulation.

Electro-Acupuncture Stimulator
Precautions:
-
① If the highest output voltage of a electro-acupuncture stimulator is over 40 volts, the strongest output current should be controlled within 1mA to prevent electric shock.
-
② Adjust the flow of the electric current gradually from small to large and take care not to amplify it suddenly to strong muscular contracture which would cause unbearable pain to patients or cause the needle to bend, or break, or patient fainting.
-
③ For patients with cardiopathy, the current return circuit through the heart should be avoided.
-
④ The output voltage should not be too strong when this treatment is applied to the place near the medulla oblongata and spinal cord.
-
⑤ Be cautious in pregnant women. |
