Renseng (Ginseng, Radix Ginseng):

Ginseng is called “Renshen” in Chinese.  “Renshen” means “human-shaped” root. Where dose this name come from?  Here is the story.

Once upon a time, two brothers wanted to go hunting.

Old people in the village advised them and said: "It is late autumn, winter is coming. Weather in the mountains changes quickly. Once the blizzard seals the mountain pass you will be unable to flee! "

As a saying goes “A newborn calf is not afraid of tigers.” The two brothers turned a deaf ear to the advice and went hunting with bows and arrows, leather clothing and some supplies for the journey.
