Do you know why honeysuckle flower is called “Jinyinhua” in Chinese? Here “jin” means “golden”, “yin” “silver” and “hua” “flower”. Here is a story about the herb’s Chinese name.

Once upon a time, a kind-hearted couple lived in a small village.

They had twin daughters. The elder one’s name was “Jinhua” (golden flower), and the younger one’s name was “Yinhua” (silver flower). They were not only pretty, but also loved by their parents and the villagers.

When they were 16 years old, one day Jinhua fell ill. She got a fever with red eruptions all over her body. She was critically ill and had no response to any treatment.

She was diagnosed to suffer from contact pestilence. Yinhua took care of her sister day and night, and soon she was infected with the same disease.
