The two pottery needles were unearthed in the Yellow River valley.  They belong to  the period of the Painted Pottery Culture (5000B.C.～3000B.C.).  Both ends of the needle are in the shape of a circular cone.  One is 8.8cm in length, and the other is 5.5cm.
