Yin-Yang and Diagnosis, and Treatment
The occurrence, progress, and changes of diseases lie in the imbalance between yin and yang, so all diseases, no matter how complicated they are, can be divided into two categories, yin and yang, from which it is easier to understand all diseases. See the table below:

Since the basic pathogenesis is the imbalance between yin and yang, the therapeutic principle is to restore balance. For example, diseases of yang nature should be treated with herbal medicines cool or cold in property to clear heat, while diseases of yin nature should be treated with herbal medicines warm and hot in property to eliminate cold.
