Yin-Yang and Pathology
-
-
Any damage to the dynamic balance between yin and yang of the body leads to various diseases.
-
For example, summer-heat is a yang pathogen, when one is attacked by it, he has the following symptoms: fever with restlessness, sweating and thirst. It is an example of excessive yang heat impairing yin fluid. Take a patient with chronic nephritis as another example. He often suffers from edema and aversion to cold. This is due to excess of yin leading to relative deficiency of yang.
