| The Scientific Practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Period of Republic of China |
 |
| There was a trend of thought to make the practice of traditional Chinese medicine “scientific.”between 1930s-1950s. For example, Dr. Yang Haoru was often invited to the German Hospital and French Hospital for consultation, and he used both Western and traditional Chinese remedies in his treatment with good effect. He raised the idea of purifing medicinal substances. Dr. Shi Jinmo laid stress on the interpretation of the theory of traditional Chinese medicine in a scientific way. He used Western medicine disease names and consulted lab tests in his diagnosis. |
