Formula Basis Jing Yue Quan Shu (Jingyue’s Complete Works), written by Zhang Jiebin of the Ming dynasty
Ingredients Herba Leonuri, Radix Codonopsis, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (stir-baked), Poria, Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix Paeoniae Alba (stir-baked with wine), Rhizoma Chuanxiong, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata
Actions To replenish qi and blood, and promote blood circulation to regulate menstruation
Indications Deficiency of qi and blood accompanied by blood stagnation, manifested as irregular menstruation delayed menstrual cycle, scanty menses, persistentprolonged menstrual cycle, listlessness and lassitude, in addition, used for dysmenorrhea, excessive leukorrhea, poor appetite, amenorrhoea, Hann's syndrome, etc.
Usage and Dosage Oral administration: Water-honeyed pills: 6g each time; small honeyed pills: 9g each time, twice a day; big honeyed pills: 1 pill each time, twice a day
Precaution

It is forbidden to prescribe to pregnant women and those with irregular menstruation.  Avoid anger and raw, cold foods.

Pharmacological study It acts to improve the immune function and myocardial, and promote uterine contraction.
