| Since 1963, the Chinese government has sent hundreds of medical teams to African countries. The footprints of the team members have covered cities and the vast countryside of 30 countries including Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, the Sudan, Zaire, Central Africa, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, Somalia, Guinea, Upper Volta, Mali, Niger, Mauritania, Botswana and Gabon. Chinese medical teams have received a warm welcome from local governments and people. They have provided local people with medical services and introduced acupuncture, moxibustion, tuina, and integrated traditional Chinese and Western therapies to Africa. In addition, Chinese medical teams have trained a large number of acupuncturists and tuina therapists there. |
