Chronic bronchitis was divided into three types based on the repeated clinical research results garnered by the Respiratory Department of the Xi Yuan Hospital, Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. “Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Bronchitis with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine” won the National Health Congress Awards in 1978.
Xu Jianzhong et al of the Xi Yuan Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences developed Gu Ben 1 and 2, a ready-made herbal medicine, for chronic obstructive lung disease (including latent bronchitis,bronchial asthma, pulmonary emphysema and pulmonary heart disease). Its research achievement won the 2nd place of the Scientific Achievement Awards of the Ministry of Health, 1983. |
