Zhang Hongen of the Guang An Men Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Lin Lan of the Experimental Pharmaceutical Plant, Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine , et al developed JiangTang Jia Tablets, a ready-made herbal medicine, for adult non-insulin-dependent diabetes, which won the 2nd place of the Major Scientific Awards, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1986.
Lin Lan, et al of the Guang An Men Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences believed diabetes manifested itself as deficiency of qi and blood accompanied by blood stagnation. Based on this theory, she first developed Jiang Tang Jia Tablets, a new ready-made herbal medicine and then Jiang Tang Tong Mai Ning for diabetes and its complications. The clinical research achievement won the 3rd place of the Chinese Medicine Scientific Achievements Awards, issued by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1992.
Yu San Xiao Capsule--a new ready-made herbal medicine for diabetes was developed by Guo Yuying of the Xi Yuan Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, based on the “San Xiao He Yi Tong Yong Fang” of the late Dr. Zhao Xiwu. It won the 3rd place of the National Scientific Progress Awards, issued by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1997.
