The effect of Liu Wei Di Huang Pills, traditionally believed to nourish the liver and kidney, was studied by Jiang Tingliang et al of the Chinese Pharmacy Institute, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences.
“Experimental and Clinical Study of the Liu Wei Di Huang Pills in Prevention of Esophageal Cancer”won the 3rd place of the National Scientific Progress Awards in 1990 and the 2nd place of the Scientific Progress Awards of Chinese Medicine, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1989.
Fu Zheng Granules was developed by Yu Guiqing et al, Guang An Men Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, based on the theory of “the kidney is the prenatal foundation”, “the spleen is the foundation after birth, and “ they are the source of qi and blood”, together with the principle of “reinforcing the spleen and kidney” advocated by Zhang Jingyue of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). “Advanced Esophageal Cancer Treated by Chemotherapy and Fu Zheng Granules” won the 2nd place of the Great Scientific Achievements Awards of Traditional Chinese Medicine, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1986.
“Clinical Observation and Experimental Study of the Effect of Shen Qi Injection with Chemotherapy in Treatment of Digestive Cancer” carried out by the Dong Zhi Men Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine won the 3rd place of the Scientific Progress Awards of Traditional Chinese Medicine, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1996.
